Stainless Steel Electropolished Pipe

Stainless Steel 316L Electro Polished Pipes, SS 304 EP Tubing manufacturer in India

Electropolished Stainless Steel Tubing is used for biotechnology, semiconductor and in pharmaceutical applications. The finishing of electroplating has different standards for use in different applications. These applications require medium range of finish. Electropolishing is a process through with the absolute roughness of the Electropolished Stainless Steel Pipe is reduced. This makes the pipes more accurate in dimensions and the Ep Pipe can be installed with accuracy in sensitive systems like the pharmaceutical industrial applications. There are different materials that could be electropolished.

ASTM A270 / A269/ A249 Welded Electro Polished Pipes with Inner Polished, Ba Finish, No 4 Brushed Finish at best price as per ASME/ ANSI B46.1

The SS 304 Electropolished Pipes are the most cost effective of the electropolished materials because of the wide usage and surplus of supply. Oshwin Overseas is a manufacturer and supplier of Stainless Steel 316l Electropolished Tubes as well. The 316 material is more corrosion resistant than the 304 material and therefore it is used in applications that are prone to corrosion risk. The High Purity Ep Tubing allows the pipes to be cleaner on the surfaces. This enables the Electro Polished SS Pipes to retain less contaminant on the surface. The A270 Polish Pipe is used in sanitary service lines whereas the A269 Polished Pipe is used in processing under acidic conditions. The A249 Polished Steel Pipe is used in heat exchangers, condenser and in super heaters. There are also the Inner Polished Pipes which have the internal surfaces polished. There are different finishes such as the Ba Finish Stainless Steel Pipe. Different mechanical methods can also be used to polish the pipes as in the case of No 4 Brushed Finish Stainless Steel Pipe. Advantages and disadvantages of electropolishing technology

Metal pipes are used mostly to transport gases and liquids. There are domestic, low cost and less sensitive applications like water supply lines to high cost, commercial, high sensitive applications such as medical equipment. The different applications would require different standards and qualities. In addition to the mechanical and chemical qualities sometimes the dimensions have to be accurate.

The pipes are made to be seamless through drawing procedures to overcome this issue. The seamless pipes are dimensionally accurate and can have less absolute roughness. But when the application is extremely sensitive and needs the inside of the pipe to be as clean and as smooth as possible, electropolishing is applied. The procedure is carried out by a process called electrolysis where the product loses atom by atom on the surface and comes to a polished finish.

However, the process has its downfalls as well. Even with this method, the absolute roughness still persists to some extent. The time taken for the process could be tolerated but it is costly, and some of the acids and other chemicals used would have an impact on the finished product. Despite these, the process is good because it brings a bright finish that no other mechanical process can provide. While removing the surface layers, the process removes impurities as well, resulting in a higher corrosion resistance.
