Similar to many 300 series austenitic stainless steel, the chemistry of grade 316 could be manipulated to suit the requirements of any application. In this case, industries that benefit using titanium stabilized Stainless Steel 316ti Tube include marine environments, architecture, pulp and paper industry. But in particular, the demand for this particular alloy is noted in industries that use heat exchangers. ASTM A213 specified SS 316ti Tubing could be processed either through hot finishing or cold finishing, in a seamless construction. Since grade 316Ti is an austenitic alloy, the ASTM A213 specifies furnishing via heat treatment. Or substitutional, the ASTM A213 TP316ti tube is to be quenched in water or cooled using any other method, after a hot forming process.
However, the tube must be quenched in such a manner that the temperature of the SS 316ti Heat exchanger Tube is not lower to the minimum temperature of the solution. This specification calls for each component to be subjected to the following tests - Tension test, hardness test, flaring test, flattening test as well as the non-destructive electric test or a hydrostatic test. The heat treatment, together with the addition of about 0.5% titanium in the alloy of Stainless Steel 316ti Seamless Tube improves the ability of the component to withstand elevated temperatures. The stabilizing effect of titanium in SS 316ti Welded Tube also extends to a marked reduction the sensitization, thus reducing the risk of corrosion.
